This flyer for 'Heavy Load' features on of the bands that regularly make the playlist at this clubnight specialising in late sixties and early seventies rock.
It was decided to present a flyer that was clean and sharp to represent the playlist (of no nonsense straight ahead rock and roll!) rather than a grungy 'rock' look, as this would catch the eye of any potential clubgoers by differentating itself from any similar event publicity. In fact a similar type of clean look is found in post psychedelic-period posters of the early seventies.
The idea of the band leaping out of the flyer was another way to represent how this form of music was direct and accessable (and ready to rock!). The rich black printed background really makes the logo, event details and image pop out of the flyer.
